Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using the Helfr platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. Platform Role
Helfr is an intermediary marketplace connecting clients with service providers in Switzerland. Helfr is not a party to any service agreement between users and is not liable for the quality or delivery of services.
3. Fees
Helfr charges a 10% platform fee on every completed transaction. This fee is deducted automatically before funds are transferred to the service provider.
4. Payments & Escrow
All payments are processed by Stripe, a regulated payment service provider. Client funds are held in escrow until the job is confirmed as completed by the client. Card payments use Stripe's authorisation-and-capture mechanism, meaning the amount is only pre-authorised on your card and is captured when you release payment. TWINT payments are captured immediately and held on a non-interest-bearing settlement account until they are released to the service provider or refunded. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis for disputed jobs.
5. Helfr is not a bank
Helfr is not a bank and is not a licensed or FINMA-supervised financial intermediary, and it does not accept deposits. Any funds shown as "held" are held solely on a non-interest-bearing basis for the purpose of settling the specific transaction between you and the other party, and are forwarded to the service provider or refunded to the client within 60 days. Helfr does not hold your money for any other purpose and pays no interest on it.
6. Job Completion & Disputes
Service providers must upload a minimum of two (2) photos of the completed work before marking a job as done. Clients may confirm completion to release payment, or open a dispute if the work is unsatisfactory. Disputes are reviewed and resolved exclusively by Helfr administrators. Helfr reserves the right to make a final binding decision on all disputes.
7. Identity Verification (KYC)
Service providers may be required to complete identity verification (KYC) via Stripe Identity. This involves uploading a government-issued ID. Unverified providers may have limited access to certain features. Helfr does not store identity documents; they are processed and held by Stripe.
8. User Conduct
Users must not post fraudulent requests, provide false information, upload inappropriate images, or engage in abusive behaviour. Violations may result in immediate account suspension. Helfr reserves the right to remove any content or suspend any account without prior notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
Helfr's liability is limited to the amount of fees paid to the platform in the 12 months preceding the claim. Helfr is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages. Helfr does not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services offered by providers.
10. Account Termination
Users may delete their account at any time from the app settings. Helfr may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are fraudulent, or where required by law. Pending payments at the time of termination will be handled according to the dispute resolution process.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Swiss law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Canton of Bern, Switzerland.
12. Contact
For questions regarding these Terms of Service, contact us at [email protected].
13. Changes to Terms
Helfr reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Users will be notified of material changes via push notification or email. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
